7 out of 10 girls feel they are treated with less respect because they are a girl. | The search results for 'girl' across the internet paint a very inaccurate and harmful picture. As a community of photographers, we have a unique opportunity to take action to change this. Because images are worth a thousand words, and in an instant can either perpetuate or challenge stereotypes. We can let girls tell us how they want to be represented, and replace the stereotypes with diverse, powerful, girl-approved imagery.
| | | | Plan International USA and a community of girls are collaborating with Unsplash for Good to rethink and repopulate images that represent "Girls vs Stereotypes". From now until September 15th, submit images that show girls as they really are, in all their diversity and strength.
The campaign & top 10 selections will be shared widely across leading US media outlets in October. | |
